Young Anglican leaders discuss mission with Archbishop

Delegates meet the Archbishop in the State Drawing Room, Lambeth Palace

Wednesday 9th June 2010

The Archbishop of Canterbury met the Anglican Communion delegation that attended the Edinburgh 2010 World Missionary Conference.

At their meeting with the Archbishop, delegates offered their impressions of the conference and discussed with the Archbishop what they had learned, and what messages they would be taking back to their own Provinces.

One of the key things that all the delegates reflected on was the importance of developing relationships across the Communion and of sharing mission experiences from different contexts.

The Edinburgh 2010 World Missionary Conference, which took place from 2 to 6 June 2010, marked the centenary of the first world missionary conference in Edinburgh in June 1910. As part of the Anglican Communion's programme to develop young Anglican/Episcopal leaders, six of the nine Anglican delegates were young leaders from across the Communion.
