Archbishop invites public nominations for £10,000 theology prize - deadline 16th March

Archbishop Rowan Williams is inviting members of the public to nominate titles for the Michael Ramsey Prize.The Archbishop founded the Prize in 2005 to encourage the most promising contemporary theological writing and to identify it for a wider readership. The biennial prize commemorates Dr Ramsey (Archbishop of Canterbury 1961-1974) and his commitment to increasing the breadth of theological understanding among the Christian and non-Christian population at large.
The next prize will be awarded in 2013, and nominations are now being sought.
To qualify, the nominated titles must have been published in English between January 2010 and December 2011 and be available in the UK. They must advance theology and make a contribution to the life of the church, and should also be written in an accessible style.
The prize for the winning book will be £10,000, with £1000 for each of the other shortlisted titles.
Anyone may nominate a book, and the nomination form and further details are available at the Michael Ramsey Prize website. The form has been designed to ensure that all nominations meet the prize criteria.
Please note that the deadline for nominations is 16th March 2012.
