Dr Williams to Visit Egypt

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, will make a brief visit to Cairo this weekend.In addition to various meetings and consultations, Dr Williams will deliver a lecture at al-Azhar al Sharif, the ancient and prestigious Sunni Muslim institution, visit a community project in Sadat City and preach at the Anglican Cathedral of All Saints' in Cairo.
Dr Williams will be accompanied by the Revd Jonathan Jennings, Press Secretary; they will join other representatives of the Anglican Communion in Cairo who have been involved in the latest session of the continuing Anglican dialogue with the Permanent Committee of al-Azhar al-Sharif. The archbishop and party will return to the UK on Sunday evening 12th September.
