Archbishop's visit to Safe in the City Birmingham
Safe in the City Birmingham, a project of The Children's Society, helps young people who have run away to keep safe and get their lives back on track.
The programme looks after children and young people who have run away from family homes or care homes. The project has achieved great success because of its committed project workers and their belief that every child deserves a safe and secure childhood. Safe in the City Birmingham can receive up to 500 referrals and help 200 children a year.
The Archbishop will meet with programme staff and will learn about their latest campaign, "Make Runaways Safe". He will also be able to spend time with young people who have run away, their families and case workers.
