Holy Land Pilgrimage Consultation at Lambeth Palace
The Archbishop of Canterbury will welcome participants to a Holy Land Pilgrimage Consultation at Lambeth Palace.
The day will be led by professionals with many years’ experience in organising pilgrimages, and will include workshops and talks designed to provide potential pilgrims with the resources to navigate the Holy Land and the pilgrimage industry ethically.
It is aimed at those who are thinking about going on a pilgrimage but don't know what to expect or how best to prepare; those who have been asked to organise a pilgrimage but are not sure how to go about it; and those who are interested in walking in the footsteps of Jesus while not leaving a damaging environmental footprint or harming indigenous communities.
The Archbishop, in opening the day, will explain why pilgrimages play such an important role in nurturing the Christian presence in the Holy Land.
This training day is open to all and will run from 10:30am-4:30pm on Monday 1st October 2012.
PLEASE NOTE: The event is now fully booked and no further places are available.
More information about ethical pilgrimages is available at the Church of England website.
